‘Tis The Season for the Newport Beach Boat Parade
It’s that time of year again, the time of year when you say hello to strangers in the street and Christmas tree lots seem to appear on every corner. The Holiday season is full of twinkling lights and nothing seems to shine quite like the boats in the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. This annual tradition started over a century ago and what was originally a parade of decorated canoes rowed by children has turned into a light extravaganza of the most stunning yachts in Newport Bay. The Christmas floats wind their way some 14 miles through the harbor to give viewers in restaurants, yacht clubs, public beaches, and in private homes an incredible sight. On the final night of the parade, a spectacular firework display will light the sky, being visible to all around the harbor. New York Times raves our tournament of lights as “one of the top ten Holiday happenings in the nation.” This magical Holiday tradition comes to you at no charge and can be enjoyed by all ages. As residence of Southern California you owe it to yourself to bundle up, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and join in the fun of this year’s 103 Annual Newport Beach Boat Parade.

If Kapture had a yacht (don’t worry it’s on our ‘To Purchase’ list) here’s what we would do to take home the gold! We love nothing more then prim & polished event decor and our dreamboat would be no exception. Picking the perfect theme is key to igniting your creativity. For our team, we like the idea of a floating log cabin. What screams holiday more then red, plaid, and pine trees anyways? Red and white drapes of Christmas lights to twinkle down from the highest point of boat, alongside a faux-bear and other creatures from the woods would give the crowd something to look at. Holiday music would fill the loudspeakers and we’ll be sure to delight the kids as the Kapture Crew dresses in our finest lumberjack threads. Showstopping is what we aim to do and with pops of unique ideas, we know we’d steal the show…. one day! Until then, we’ll continue to spectate and show our support to all of our Newport Beach neighbors!
